Description
Orly Goitein, MD, is the Director of Cardiac Imaging in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The Chaim Sheba Medical Center Tel Hashomer in Ramat Gan, Israel. She earned her medical degree from Hadassah University Hospital, Ein Kerem, Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel. She completed her residency in Radiology at Shaare Zedek medical Center in Jerusalem. She then completed a fellowship in thoracic imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, New York. Following that she also completed a fellowship in thoracic and cardiac imaging at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In Israel, Dr. Goitein is the head of the cardiovascular imaging division at the diagnostic Imaging department at Sheba Medical Center. She led a team of radiologists and cardiologists to outline the appropriateness criteria for cardiac MRI. She is the MRI safety trustee and a permanent member of the institutional review board at Sheba Medical Center. Dr Goitein is also a senior lecturer at the Sackler Medical School of Tel-Aviv University, and she has authored or co-authored more than 60 articles in the fields of cardiac imaging and general radiology.
